What is STOTT PILATES®?

Joseph Pilates preached the benefits of a perfect balance of body and mind.  He coupled his own gymnastics and martial arts background with a keen analytical approach to body mechanics, posture and breathing to develop what he called “Contrology”.

STOTT PILATES® builds on the essence and principles of Joseph Pilates’ work by incorporating modern knowledge about the body such as the anatomical based concepts of neutral pelvis and spine, a departure from the original pelvic tilt or flat back.  Working in this neutral position helps to create stability through the torso resulting in a balanced and aligned body.
